Marketing Ideas For Gustos...

 

Darn it...I was in Tomah and Stoughton Wisconsin last week for a cousin's graduation.  I live near Albany, NY.

To recap the idea I put in the Facebook messenger....

Your daughters TikTok is getting you a TON of attention.

To take advantage of that six months from today, you should immediately start a BIRTHDAY CLUB and start collecting the contact info of everyone who actually comes in.

I haven't had a chance to read all the suggestions you've received so I don't know if anyone has BEGGED you to start collecting the contact info of people who ACTUALLY come in.

You're riding high at the moment...it's exciting...people are coming in...spending money...saying nice things online etc but it will calm down.  
.
In a month you might be wondering where everyone went.  
.
People are easily distracted these days and it's hard to get and keep their attention, particularly via social media.  
.
That's why building your own email list is SO important. 
.
You want to get your social media fans to become your email list members.
.
Why? So that YOU control who and when they see your message.
.
Think about your own experience...how often have you seen a business post about a special offer but it gets shown to you after it has already expired.  I do, every day.   
.
Facebook wants you to pay to get your message out and even then they control how many and when something is seen.
.
An email list gives you that control back.  
.
It's important to try and get your social media followers to get on your email list.
,
It's 10x as important to get the contact information of people who come into your store and give you money.  These are the people you want to keep track of.
.
It's 5-10x easier to get someone to come back than it is to get someone to come in the first time but most businesses HOPE people will come back.
.
HOPE is not a viable business strategy.
.
The answer is to start a BIRTHDAY CLUB.
.
I know you're busy so I've taken the liberty of preparing you name capture slips that look like this...

Click here to download the attached Gustos 4x Name Capture slips...bring it to a local copy shop...get 100 or so printed, cut them apart and then ask EVERYONE who walks in to join your BIRTHDAY CLUB.

Maybe your POS system will collect this data...great...do that then.
.
Some will not want to give you that info...that's OK...ASK EVERYONE.
.
I suggest collecting zip codes so that you have an idea where people are coming from.  You might be surprised.  
.
A zip code also allows you to send special messages to people who live nearby.
.
This can be handy to drum up business just before a weather event for example.  "We've got a big snow storm coming tonight...stop in to get a few days supply of..."
.
I can't stress enough the importance of building your email list.  
.
I guarantee in six months you'll have long forgotten about your daughter's TikTok post and so will most of the people who liked it....but you'll be so grateful you started an email list of customers and someday customers.
.
Business is tough...make it easier by building your list.
.

It won't all apply to your business but with some twists it could help.  At the very least, start an email list...free with MailChimp.com if your POS system doesn't work.
